Update: A Webapp for Scout Commissioners (Update #2)

Well, I don’t have much to say about this, just want everyone to know that the project is “closed.”

Dear Ron,

We certainly appreciate the effort you’ve put into this project and your interest in using technology to support Scouting. However, at this time the BSA cannot provide permission for your app to be published in the Amazon Android appstore. Also, we must ask that you remove the app from the Google Play store and the HP webOS app directory and not proceed with development of native apps for the iPhone and iPad.

As you know, the Commissioner Newsletter is a publication of the BSA, and the BSA owns the rights to that material. At this time, we are not licensing out the rights to use that content in any form of media. The organization is conducting an internal review of its digital delivery strategy and it would be premature to approve any third-party app before that review is complete. We appreciate your understanding as the organization works through this process.

Again, thank you for your efforts and your continued support of Scouting. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Burgin
